Migration · legacy borehole software

Leaving legacy borehole software?Land in minutes, not months.

Legacy borehole software is complex, expensive, and often an IT project in itself. TerraBrains reads the same open AGS 4.x format your data already exports to, so your whole archive lands in minutes and instantly becomes a live 3D ground model. No migration consultant. No lock-in. Your data stays yours.

How it works · three steps

An export and a drag-and-drop.

01

Export AGS 4.x from your old tool

HoleBASE and every serious package export the AGS 4.x interchange format. One export gives you decades of factual data in a single open file — no proprietary lock-in.

02

Drop the file into TerraBrains

Drag the .ags (or a .zip of many project folders) onto the Import screen. We auto-detect the header rows, map AGS groups to boreholes, strata, SPT, samples and lab results, and flag anything that needs a human eye. Spreadsheets (HoleBASE layouts, any engineer’s columns) work too.

03

Review, then it’s live

You review the mapped records — nothing commits until you approve it. Then your archive is a live 3D ground model, searchable logs, an auto-classified lab queue, and 213 code-checked analyses ready to run. Re-export AGS or DIGGS any time.

What comes across

Your factual data — all of it, intact.

Boreholes & locations (GPS / grid)
Strata / geology with USCS
SPT N-values & blow counts
Samples & chain of custody
Lab results & derived parameters
Water strikes & in-situ tests

Nothing commits until you approve it, and every imported record joins the same tamper-evident SHA-256 audit chain as native data — so a regulator can verify the provenance of migrated records too. See Security & Trust for data ownership and export guarantees.

Bring 20 years of borelogs into a tool built this decade.

Start free, import an AGS export, and watch your archive become a 3D model and a report you can sign — before lunch.
